About Your Role
Newly created Health Safety and Environment (HSE) role. Lead HSE role for the Thales Contract on the prestigious Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project with further opportunity to work on various rail projects within greenfield and brownfield sites. In this role you will:
- Oversee all matters relating to HSE for the Project
- Implement the HSE strategy, management system and improvement plan for allocated projects
- Foster a positive safety culture that maintains high standards and support for frontline staff, contractors and project participants
- Engage with frontline staff and contractors to discover what helps and hinders successful operations
- Coach and mentor site management and engineering staff on safety matters
- Possess strong skills in risk management
- Passionate about finding simple, effective solutions to problems
- Develop and monitor HSE targets and objectives for allocated projects
- Superior stakeholder management skills, engaging with client and Principal Contractors on HSE matters
- Demonstrate full support and advocacy for HSE programs
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company HSE requirements, ensuring employees are kept updated
- Safety representation on projects
- Providing technical expertise on a array of HSE topics in high risk environments
- A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and creativity
- Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety and/or Environmental Management
- Site-based in experience within a high-risk industry, preferably within a Tier 1 Rail/Construction environment
- Passionate about working with technology
- An extensive track record of building strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Drivers licence
