We currently have a permanent opportunity for an analytical thinker to join our Service Interface Team based at our Rail Management Centre. Your primary objective will be to provide transport planning services to the Train Planning team to support the achievement of strategic timetable planning objectives.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate resilience in a team dynamic environment. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills in Data analysis using analytical tools, carrying out research and identifying improvements from trends in data.

  • This position is required to perform analysis of the timetabled plans for execution from the Master Train Plan right through to the Daily Train Plan.
  • This position will provide statistical and modelling information to enable Queensland Rail to engage and negotiate with internal partners and external partners
  • This position will have the opportunity to work with other planners from daily train planning and special events through to possession planning to ensure the critical succession arrangements of the Rail Management Centre and Operations (RMC&O) planning team.

Key requirements of this position include analysis, modelling, and statistical and mathematical evaluation. Your ability to communicate across all levels of the business along with your strong time management skills and ability to use your initiative will ensure your success in this role. We strongly encourage recent IT or Engineering graduates to apply for these roles.

Key selection criteria;
• Substantial level of skill in the use of computer based systems to operate and/or construct robust computer models for supporting strategic planning and forecasting, and operational analysis.
• Substantial level of analytical, research, problem solving and data analysis and visualisation skills.
• Substantial level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Sound level of skill in effectively working within a high performing professional team.

Starting salary or salary range: $67,000 + super + rail pass (home and duty)
