Our Brisbane team are currently seeking ambitious, professional people with drive and passion to join our Sales Cadetship Program. 

The Cadetship will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to become an expert in wharf transport, learn valuable sales skills with on-the-go training and development, whilst giving you greater exposure to the wider supply chain of our global business. 

We are looking for smart, energetic and passionate people who genuinely want to build careers in B2B and relationship management. Initially there will be time spent learning our business from the ground up – within branch operations, the sales team and training in order to progress towards being a full time Business Development Executive.

The role reports to the QLD Sales Manager and initially you will be responsible for the following functions:

• Sales Support, quoting customers & building proposals

• Developing prospect lists in conjunction with the Business Development Executives

• Assisting in developing these prospects, including gaining meetings, working on proposals, and implementation of new accounts

• Assisting our Customer Development Manager in actioning Continuous Improvement Programs

• Working closely with other Mainfreight business units to build group supply chain solutions

• Assisting the Sales Manager with various projects


  • Some understanding and/or experience in B2B prospecting and pipeline building activities; i.e. identifying, researching, cold calling, qualifying, presenting and closing
  • A team player with a positive attitude and open to learning our business inside out
  • Able to problem solve and conceptualise solutions with a complete customer focus
  • You are goal oriented, competitive and career focused
  • Organised, disciplined, responsible and structured
  • Personable, well presented for business with a professional phone etiquette
  • Sound computer knowledge, particularly using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous employment in the transport and logistics industry is not a prerequisite
  • You must currently live in Australia
