Molycop's twelve grinding media operations are strategically located around the world to service the growing global mining industry, particularly in copper, gold, and iron ore sectors. Molycop’s locations are in Chile, Peru, Mexico, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia.

The Molycop business employs around 600 staff and wages roles across operations in Waratah, Newcastle and Bassendean, Perth.Our Bassendean site manufacturers forged steel grinding media and engineered products for use in the mining and mineral processing industry.

Molycop is currently seeking to recruit a Product Technician based at our Bassendean Site. This role will be a full time 1-year fixed term contract. Reporting to the Optimisation Engineer, the Product Technician will form part of a close-knit team and be responsible for building sensors to place into grinding media balls. Additionally, the role will maintain the administration and documentation of the sensor building paperwork and processes.

Extensive experience production experience or trade qualifications are not necessary. The ideal candidate will be someone who has the following key attributes:

  • Enjoys working with their hands within defined specifications e.g. building models, cake decorating, woodwork
  • Well organised and patient
  • Willingness to do repetitive work accurately for extended periods
  • A strong attention to detail.

While it is not essential it is preferred that the candidate have soldering experience and some previous experience working in a production environment. The role would be well suited to someone currently studying and electrical or electronics discipline at TAFE.
