Rail project located in Sydney requires a Signalling SME to report into the Signalling and Communications Manager

Signalling SME

The Signalling SME will support the overall design and construction (D&C) phase for the appropriate design packages pertaining to Light Rail Signalling. The Signalling SME will ensure the D&C is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, in conformance with the principal's brief or other stated objectives.

As Signalling SME you are required to:

• Provide support in the design, construction, and commissioning of:

• Signalling infrastructure
• On-board equipment (rolling stock)
• Mechanical/electrical point machines
• Wayside equipment
• Interlockings
• LRV detection systems
• Road/rail traffic regulation
• Lead the design package submission technical assurance process
• Work with all necessary interfacing disciplines/contractors to ensure an integrated and constructable design solution
• Provide technical review and support of the Requirements and Verification Traceability Matrix
• Provide technical support for the Safety and RAM’s engineers, to address issues/gaps and support risk identification, evaluation and management workshops
• Provide technical support for management of the contract/s
• Liaise with the principle (or representative) as necessary
• Communicate and direct subcontractors in charge of Signalling scope ensuring technical compliance to the design specifications

The Signalling SME will have:

• Proven project experience in railway projects (3 years minimum)
• Proven Knowledge of Rail Signalling technology
• Knowledge of comparable Signalling design procedures
• Proven experience in installation/construction methodologies of Signalling infrastructure
• Proficiency in office management software (MS Office)
• Highly organized with the ability to work intuitively, solving technical problems as required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Engineering Diploma / Degree (or equivalent)
