About The Role

WorkPac are seeking a Technical Writer to join Rio Tinto's Asset Management & Engineering Services (AMES) team based in Perth CBD at Central Park. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and reviewing asset management standards and procedures and assist with rolling out large scale business and system changes to Rio Tinto Iron Ore Asset Maintenance Cost Management users in HME, Rail, Port and Fixed Plant.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support internal business documentation development and improvements for the work process improvements related with asset management.
  • Establish written detail according to RT standards regarding format, clarity, conciseness, and business terminology.
  • Maintain register of all current documentation and revisions.
  • Edit standards and procedures as directed and indicated by SMEs.
  • Confer with required personnel to establish process and subject matter detail to develop documented process ready for operational use.
  • Prepare and update guidelines, process flow charts and other illustrations of process.
  • Engage with relevant personnel and business groups to become familiar with project and process.
  • Analyse changes and alterations to current supporting documentation and determine revision requirements.
  • Work with project groups and business units to obtain an in-depth understanding of the business processes and documentation requirements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

Skills & Experience

  • Good understanding of asset maintenance cost management principles and processes.
  • Proven working experience in technical writing in asset management systems.
  • Skilled in delivering high quality documentation, paying attention to detail.
  • Able to quickly grasp process concepts and make them easily understandable in text and illustrations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player and able to collaborate with others.
